Scope of application
Elevators: Measuring at the yoke
Measuring at the yoke is a cost-effective solution, requiring only one sensor which can be easily mounted without requiring any mechanical modification. However, the precision of the measurement can be noticeably improved by adding the output of a second sensor to the input of the signal-processing system. The sensors are proof against overloads and the method is equally well suited to new installations and equipment upgrades. High-sensitivity strain-gages can be supplied for use with yokes with particularly low stress, and gages only 100mm long (instead of 300mm) can be provided for use with unusually short yokes. Loads between 300kg and 5t can be measured.
YOKE STRAIN SENSOR WITH INCREASED SENSITIVITY
The surface strain sensor X-109 monitors the strain between its two mounting screws and amplifies this mechanically. In this way the strain is concentrated in the measuring area and can therefore be measured using a resistive bridge. With proper mounting, the measurement signal is proportional to the load in the cabin. The solid steel body and sealed construction (IP67) guarantees trouble-free installation even under harsh environmental conditions.
